THE WISELAB IS HERE
On Friday, March 3, 2007, the NC Wine Service Laboratories (WISELAB), a platform of the Oenology, Viticulture, and Natural Products (OVNP) Group's Quality Optimization and Value Addition Research Systems Service, was delivered.
We're a little pleased...if you think it has taken forever, you should be living at THIS end of this...
Inside, it looks like a laboratory...
Starting tomorrow, the FOSS engineers will be here installing the FIA Star 5000 (for free and total SO2), the NIR spectrophotometer (to eventually be trained in these techniques), and we will install the Anton Paar Wine Alcolyzer (for density, and % alcohol), some autotitrating equipment (pH, TA), a centrifuge, and other equipment. We working on the grape application as well, thinking that this might be easiest for the WineFlex Auto. We have our fingers crossed for that one... It isn't automatic, there is still much work to do, and much bureaucracy to fight to get it done.
But we'll do our best
